DOC Nature Walk
Saturday, 6 March from 10:00 am-4:00 pmFree
As part of 2021 Pride, the Department of Conservation Ōtautahi Rainbow Network would like to invite you to come spend the day with us at Ōtamahua/Quail Island on 6 March 2021.
We will go for a walk around the island, discover its interesting history, experience its wildlife and receive some insights from our DOC staff. Everyone is welcome.
There will be plenty of downtime to relax, have a swim, enjoy our surroundings while catching up with our rainbow whānau – taking pride in our (bio)diversity! Bring your swimmers, and a picnic lunch!
The day will be weather dependant.
Where and when:
We will meet at Lyttelton Wharf (near Super Restaurant on Sutton Quay) at 10am ready for a 10.15am departure to the island.
The ferry will then depart Ōtamahua/Quail Island at 3.30pm.
Ferry cost will be $30 return for adults or $15 return for children.
As we need to make sure there will be enough space on the ferry for everyone, please register interest by sending an email to email@example.com.
How to get there:
Saturday is market day in Lyttelton, so parking will be difficult. We encourage people to grab the bus.
The 28 goes right to the wharf.
Age: All ages
Cost: Free (but ferry costs involved)
