INTERSEXtionality: Disproportionate impacts of climate change and other social justice issues on queers

March 21 12:00 pm

How does climate change, housing, prisons, and other social justice movements disproportionately impact the LGBQTI+ community?
What social justice groups exist in Ōtautahi that are fighting these issues—and how can you get involved?
Come along to this panel discussion to find out.
We’ll be joined by members from various social justice movements across Ōtautahi who are on the ground tackling these interconnected issues. They’ll share their insights on how LGBQTI+ rights are deeply connected to struggles like climate justice, housing justice, and prison abolition.
Following the panel, we’ll provide flyers with key questions we can ask politicians at the upcoming Queerly Political event—questions designed to find out how serious they really are about addressing LGBQTI+ rights. Because queer rights cannot exist without broader social justice.
We’ll share some kai together, then head over to Queerly Political as a group.
