Welcome everyone to our Ōtautahi’s LGBTIQA+ Takatāpui Whānau Meetup, Pride Edition! How exciting is to be sharing our event with the wider Ōtautahi’s rainbow community!
We’re in awe for the amazing team at Te Ara Sophia, who have allowed us to have this beautiful space to meet. We will be having a Koha box on The event that will go towards renting the room. We encourage everyone that can to contribute so this event keeps happening, but please do not feel restricted attend if you can’t commit to donate. We want to see all your friendly faces and create a safe space for all.
The aim of this event is to create a safe space for our rainbow community to gather and meet each other, as well as sharing experiences and getting a nice play date in the middle.
There are toilets and plenty of toys for pēpi and children to mingle, while the adults can have some tea, coffee and kōrero.
This group is focused for parents to be, new parents and parents with preschooler children, however, everyone is welcome and will love to see your beautiful faces!
The invite for this event is usually shared through the Christchurch Rainbow Families group and the Canterbury Midwives only, but word of mouth is our favourite way to find new people to join, so spread the word and get everyone here!
