| Gin Gin | 12 March | 7–10pm
We’re back with Risqué Clay & Cabaret, descending after dark for a special Pride edition, with part of every ticket donated to CHCH Pride
Guided by Jamie from OdD Aries, you’ll sculpt two polymer clay jewellery pieces – cheeky, sensual, and charged with the energy of the night to take home with you As the clay sets, the energy rises. Sip Gin Gin’s signature cocktails alongside curated evening fare, designed to be savoured between moments of art and allure.
Spaces are limited. Come for the art. Stay for the tease. Leave on fire. |
Beers, Bites and Babes is a monthly catch up for everyone to enjoy. We typically go to a “local” pub to enjoy some Beers (any beverage of your choice) and Bites. You (the Babe) can come along and relax knowing you are amongst community.
Queer Supper Club – our monthly dinner meet up for the Rainbow community is back for 2026! To kick off the season we will be starting with a Pride month dinner. Pizza trap (home of phenomenal pizza and the sweetest team of legends) is opening on a Tuesday especially for us! This one has a closing time of 9pm, just because we’d like their team to get an early night (and so would I), but there are several nearby locations that are excellent for a post dinner drink should you wish to continue the party.
Please find the event link below and click attending if you will be there as this one may fill up very quickly!
UK protest singer Grace Petrie has become a force on the international folk scene, known for her razor-sharp lyrics, fierce politics and laugh-out-loud wit on stage. Often compared to Billy Bragg, she writes songs that rally, comfort and cut straight to the bone, tackling themes of feminism, queer identity and social justice with passion and bite.
Since touring New Zealand in 2020 with The Guilty Feminist, Grace has won a loyal following here, drawn to both her firebrand politics and her disarming charm. Her breakout single Black Tie became a queer anthem, streaming over 1.2 million times and drawing praise from MOJO, The Observer and The New Yorker.
Get ready for a night of laughter, mayhem and the best of questionable bingo calls…. It’s Bingo B*tch!
You can expect the sassiest of hosts, ridiculous banter, prizes from local Ōtautahi supporters, and just enough structure to pretend we’re here for the numbers. Grab your dabber, bring your loudest bingo voice, and prepare for a fabulous evening of chaos, joy, community vibes, and pure camp nonsense. This is an R18 event.
Tickets coming soon..
Muy Muy is wheelchair accessible. The entrance is at street level, and there is an accessible bathroom. The tabled part of the event can be harder to navigate so if you have any special needs (wheelchair seating spot, etc.), it’s a good idea to reach out to contact@chchpride.co.nz with “Accessibility” in the email subject field.
There will be loud noises, but no flashing lights.
It’s finally time for Pride Festival 2026, a whole month of Pride revelry, joy and shenanigans, and after a year of waiting patiently we are kicking off with a banger. You told us how much you love the Walk for Support and how much you want to stick around once it’s done, so this year we’re proud to introduce you to a new, revamped version: the Pride Parade and Picnic. We’ll be starting at The Commons on the corner of Kilmore St and Durham St North at 2pm on Sunday the 1st of March and strutting our fine selves through the iconic wooden arches of The Commons and down into Victoria Square for an afternoon of Drag, Dance, Moana Vibes and live music. Bring a picnic blanket or chairs, your non-alcoholic drinks, and gather your friends, whānau and chosen family for an afternoon of community, entertainment, and celebration in the heart of Ōtautahi.
And this is just the beginning. Throughout February we will be announcing Pride events, Community events and all of the delicious things coming up as part of Pride Festival 2026. Expect pool parties, roller derby, supper club, the boat trip, hot pools and more bingo than you ever thought possible. Trust us, there’s something for everyone this year, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.
Please remember to bring sunscreen and water as it might be warm!
There are lots of shady spaces under trees and areas that are adjacent to but not directly by the stage if you prefer a more quiet space.
Please be aware the Ōtākaro/Avon River runs through the Square, if you bring children you will need to keep an eye on them around the water.
The closest toilets are at the Margaret Mahey Park, a short walk or roll through Oxford Terrace and behind Te Pae on Cathedral Square.
The Parade part of this event is of a similar length to the previous walk for support but has flat, wide pathways with a slight decline towards the square.
The stage will be on the grass area indicated on the map, there is an incline to get onto the grass area but if you follow the pathway up to Armagh st it is a smoother journey on to the grass.
Volunteers will be available to assist and help with seating or positioning near the stage if needed.
NZ sign interpreter will be present.
There will be no flashing lights or strobes.
This event is outside but we recommend staying home if you are sick, or wearing a mask if you wish to.
This event is Smokefree and Alcohol free.
Parking/buses – There is paid parking in many areas around Victoria square, the closest bus stop is outside the Town Hall.
If you have any questions about the event or any accessibility enquiries feel free to reach out to contact@chchpride.co.nz

This event is open to the public but is especially designed for those who might not always feel at home in public pools. There is no additional cost for these sessions, simply turn up and pay the regular pool entry fees (though do reach out to us if cost is a barrier). There is no need to register for this event.
