It’s Ōtautahi Pride right now, but we know pride – and allyship – extends all year long. Join us for a workshop and panel discussion on what being an ally (or an accomplice!) looks like in 2026. What are the challenges our diverse community are facing? Where do we need people to step up? How can people get stuck in?

Bring your pātai and whakaaro for this evening of kōrero.

1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture is a feature documentary that follows the story of tireless researchers who trace the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians to a grave mistranslation of the Bible in 1946.

It chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University which unveil astonishing new revelations, and casts significant doubt on any biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors, including the personal stories of the film’s creators, 1946 is at once challenging, enlightening, and inspiring.

Come join us at All Souls Church in Merivale as we show this important film in an inclusive and affirming space.

The Secret Piano Bar
Where the night leans in to listen.

Proudly presented by ITR and JR Entertainment as part of Ōtautahi Christchurch Pride

Step inside, turn your phone to silent, and let the night unfold…

Hidden somewhere within the Isaac Theatre Royal, The Secret Piano Bar comes alive after dark—an intimate Ōtautahi Christchurch Pride experience where voices rise, secrets are shared, and the piano never sleeps.

This is a night crafted by those in the room: the music, the mood, and the moments shaped by everyone who gathers—singers, storytellers, friends, and you. Settle in with a drink, relax into the warm after-hours atmosphere, and, if you feel like lingering, add one of ITR’s signature platters to enjoy at your table. Share a song with friends if the moment feels right, or simply lean back and listen.

From big feelings to quiet confessions, every moment is once-only… if you know, you know.

Stay for one drink—or stay until the piano plays its final chord. At The Secret Piano Bar, the night is yours.
