Queer Cinema for Palestine is:
A pledge. More than 300 queer filmmakers have pledged not to screen at the pinkwashing, Israeli government-sponsored TLVFest, in response to calls from Palestinian queers.
A global event. This year, Queer Cinema for Palestine, under the slogan “No Pride in Genocide,” has curated a 90-minute program of 8 stellar new short films, to be presented by groups/partners in cities globally during Pride month (June 2025).
Queer Cinema for Palestine started as a film festival in 2021 as a solidarity initiative offering artists and arts groups around the world a vibrant space to stand together, using our art to oppose the ongoing violence of Israeli occupation and apartheid against Indigenous Palestinians.
In 2023, Queer Cinema for Palestine hosted “No Pride in Genocide,” in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza and across all of historic Palestine and denouncing Israel’s genocidal attacks and ethnic cleansing against millions of Palestinians.
Join us for the 2025 edition!
Celebrate World Pride with us this June, and take the time this Matariki to reflect on our histories and those that led the way before us.
Join us for a special screening of Georgie Girl, a full length 2001 documentary about Aotearoa’s own Georgina Beyer, the world’s first openly transgender mayor and MP, and a special talk from Aotearoa queer historian Will Hansen.
Will Hansen (he/him) is a trans historian based in Pōneke. He is the lucky recipient of a Judith Binney Trust award, which is enabling him to spend this year working on turning his thesis – ‘Queer Activism in Aotearoa New Zealand, 1961-2013’ – into a book! He is also a trustee of Kawe Mahara Queer Archives Aotearoa.
Koha entry, registration preferred but tickets will be available on the door as well.
FOOD COURT: LACTOSE INTOLERANT

Lactose Intolerant is a night of celebration, reclamation and genre bending. It’s about making space, taking space, and doing it with teaspoon full of mana and a dash of cheekiness.
Forget milk — we’re serving coconut cream and ancestral vibes.
